Welcome to Urban Sketchers – North Bay!

trentadueHi! I’m Diane Perin Hock, and along with Phil McDonel and Richard Sheppard am excited to welcome you to this new Urban Sketchers regional group. This area of California is so beautiful and has so many wonderful sites to sketch. I’m delighted to be part of a group dedicated to sketching it and sharing it with the world.

A bit about me. I have had little formal art training, although I’ve been a fiber artist for many years and have exhibited my art quilts internationally. I’m relatively new to sketching, but I’ve caught the bug. The Urban Sketchers’ blogs and flickr images have inspired and taught me so much. I’m a lawyer by profession, currently working part-time, I travel a bit to judge quilt shows, and I homeschool my teenage daughter. Life is busy and sketching provides me with my own form of creative meditation.

You can read my blog Going to Pieces here, and see my Flickr images here.

About Diane

I'm a woman in my mid-50s, starting over after the end of a long marriage, parenting a teenage daughter, and thinking about who I am and where I am going in this new phase of my life. I'm an artist, a reader, a lawyer, a passionate learner... but who knows what else I will turn out to be!
